FASHIONISTA.
LANDFILL HATER.
VINTAGE LOVER.
CLIMATE HERO.

We’re all under the same sky, we’re together in this. Mine may be a small change but I'm doing something, you know?

After leaving school, Vesile was working in the local hotel. To make some extra money on the side, she decided to sell some of her old clothes online, instead of throwing them away. That’s when the idea for her online vintage clothes business was born.

“I launched my online vintage clothes shop, Love Route, from my bedroom in a small town in the heart of Scotland in 2018. I was never that into the academic side of school, so I always knew that I wanted to start my own business. I love vintage clothing and giving clothes a new lease of life. There’s so much creativity to it.”

According to Fashion on Climate, the fashion industry contributes approximately 2.1 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in a single year. That’s comparable to the annual emissions of France, Germany and the United Kingdom combined. Re-thinking the fashion industry, loving clothes for longer and re-using materials instead of creating new is an opportunity to help reduce the emissions associated with clothing.

“I am really passionate because I don't want to see the planet being destroyed, I don't want my kids to see the plant destroyed. The planet is beautiful. We’ve got to see a change when it comes to fast fashion.

“I didn’t start out just to protect the environment, but I’m proud that I am doing something that I love. I’m a businesswoman and I’m doing my bit. We’re all under the same sky, we’re together in this. Mine may be a small change but I'm doing something, you know?”
